A couple of weeks ago I attended a high school senior photography workshop. I had a great time meeting the seniors and photographing them around McKinney Cotton Mill. The location is a popular spot for bridal portraits and weddings, but boy was it also a fantastic place for high school senior portraits! The Cotton Mill is expansive with the main attraction being the gutted factory with broken windows and colored glass. The wooden floors, posts, brick walls, ceiling beams, and colored windows are really cool. There is also a garden area with a terrace, fountain and lush landscaping. Further in the back are some old structures and historic buildings with so much character and charm.

Now a history lesson: The Cotton Mill opened in the late 1900’s The Cotton Mill processed cotton picked fresh from Collin county, and prepared it to be sold to markets for manufacturing into goods. Later in the 1960’s, the mill became known as the largest denim manufacturer in the world.

Meet Abby, high school senior. She did a smashing job during her portrait session! These are some of my favorites.

Abby was styled by Landry Kate (IG:@shoplandrykate) and hair and makeup by Maybel (IG:@makeupbymaybelle)
