It is not often that I photograph a maternity session and the following week the baby is born! We had perfect timing with this mamma. On mother’s day, we photographed the maternity session at my Flower Mound studio. It was a wonderful way to celebrate motherhood. The following weekend, she ended up giving birth! If we waited the next weekend, it would have been too late!

The majority of times I photograph newborns at their home. It provides a peaceful and familiar setting for the family. There is no need to pack bags, multiple outfits, bottles, diapers, pacifiers, and all the other million things newborns could use. For new moms it can be stressful to travel and spend hours at a newborn session. This is the main reason I provide the service of coming to the clients’ home. At the home, I can photograph the nursery, important items like handmade blankets and even include pets. Don’t you love how the dog is protectively laying next to the baby in the bassinet?

When I come to the client, I bring several items to use. In my bag, I have multiple colored swaddle blankets, various headbands, white onesies, and best of all a Moses basket. Clients can choose to use my items, or use their own. I am happy to accommodate requests of using heirloom pieces and other items the parents would like to use.
