Flower Mound Extended Family Portraits
This past fall I met this wonderful family for extended family portraits while everyone was in town to celebrate Thanksgiving. We met at lovely Heritage Park in Flower Mound. The vibrant colors of fall created a vibrant setting. Family members traveled from near and far, including San Antonio, Florida, and Keller! I particularly loved talking to the Florida traveler from my hometown!
Extended Family Photos Timeline
During extended family sessions, I make sure to photograph a variety of poses. First and most important is the group photo of all the generations! Then I concentrate on the grandparents with their grandchildren, followed by their adult children. Cousin groups are important too! I’ll then photograph each family, followed by siblings.

Tips for Extended Family Portraits
Planning with your family members helps the picture day go smoothly! These are important factors to consider.
- Plan wardrobe colors. Incorporating three or four colors will create a cohesive look.
- Choose a time that works for everyone.
- Arrive at the location fifteen minutes before photos to ensure everyone is present and ready.
- Delegate one family member to arrange the details with the photographer, including payments and gallery delivery.
- Be ready to create wonderful memories!
