To ensure the best results, I recommend scheduling your lifestyle newborn session when the baby is between one to three weeks old, as they sleep soundly during this time. The ideal window for these sessions is between 10 AM and noon, when babies are typically in the best mood. This timeframe also works well for younger siblings. Expect the session to take approximately 1.5 hours, and please be sure to feed the baby and any small children right before we begin.
When I arrive at your chosen location, I will select rooms filled with abundant natural light to create the best backdrop for your photos. I prioritize incorporating your family’s personal items into the images, including cribs, special blankets, and treasured keepsakes. I always bring along a woven Moses basket and simple swaddles, but I focus on using your personal belongings to add distinctive character to each session. However, it’s crucial to acknowledge that as they advance in this stage, posing for pictures and navigating the photoshoot location can become increasingly uncomfortable. Always consider the time of year and the temperatures. When outdoor conditions are too hot or cold, studio options are available. I make it a priority to ensure the mother’s comfort and to protect her health during extreme weather.
Including older children in a maternity photo session is a fantastic idea! It allows them to feel special and understand their important role as the baby’s sibling.
