Flower Mound Bluebonnet Mini Sessions
Flower Mound Bluebonnet Mini Sessions are HERE! I am so excited to announce 2018 Bluebonnet Sessions. With all the rain we have had, I think this season will be very plentiful and beautiful! I have set up two dates, with morning and evening options during the weekend. Location will be in Grapevine.
It is always so fun watching children interact with the flowers. As you can tell, candid moments capture special excitement!
Tips for your Bluebonnet Session:
Wear neutral colors like cream, white, grey, blue, and olive green. Girls can wear a lovely spring dress, too. Avoid anything too bright, as the colors will compete with the beautiful flowers.
Wear boots to protect from the grass. This is important especially if your child has sensitive skin or does not like different textures. The boots add a Texas twist!
Bring a hat. Sun hats, sun bonnets, or cowboy hats. These add a sweet traditional spring touch to your photos. If you are not a fan of hats, consider bringing a hair clip or hair band to tie back lose hair in case of wind.
Bring Bug Spray. Remember, we are in nature’s territory. Be prepared by applying bug spray before arrival.
Legend of the Bluebonnet
Having grown up in Florida, I spent the first year or two in Texas learning about all the fun traditions of the state. At the time I was a fourth grade school teacher. The social studies curriculum covered Texas history! It was perfect for this new Texan get develop Texas spirit! One book we always read was “The Legend of the Bluebonnet” by Tomie DePaoloa It tells the native american legend of how bluebonnets became so plentiful. After reading, the students created a bluebonnet painting using q-tips as the paint brush. The tips are perfect for creating bluebonnet blossoms! What are some Texas traditions you enjoy?
