I had a great time meeting Veronica for her high school senior portraits. She was so confident and ready to capture some great images. I loved how she chose three very different outfits. Each one fit in well with the scenery at the botanical gardens.
When planning a senior session, a couple things to consider include location, outfits, and interests. The first thing I ask clients is what type of location they desire. Clients decide if they desire a natural grassy field, nature with trees, manicured gardens, a lake setting, or even an urban location. Sometimes, we have to choose two locations to fit the client’s style! Next we talk about wardrobe. Many times I recommend a more dressy outfit and a casual outfit. The third outfit can be anything else. Another thing to consider is if the client has a specific hobby or talent to showcase in the photos. Whether they are an athlete, musician, dancer, or even a fisherman, we can do it!
Senior sessions can even include hair and make up as well as wardrobe shopping discounts. I love partnering with local businesses to provide services to my clients. Just ask about the current references I have!

When should you book senior portraits? I recommend as early as September of the graduating year through early November. Another option is March through May. The earlier you contact the photographer for your session, it is more likely you will have great options for locations and dates.
