Old Town Lewisville in Spring
Every spring I eagerly wait for the beautiful red bud tree blooms. The pop of pink blossoms is so lovely and eye catching every time! They only last for a few weeks in March! I try to get at least one session with these beauties! This year, I had a lovely mother and father who wanted maternity pictures with the buds. Her dress was a perfect match! I don’t think it could have been closer! I was so impressed.
When to Schedule Maternity Portraits
The beginning of the third trimester is a great time for maternity portraits! Women sensually still have the energy from the second trimester and feel more comfortable. As women progress further into the third trimester, they may find posing for pictures and walking around a photoshoot location more uncomfortable. Please take into consideration the time of year and temperatures. There are studio options when the outdoors is too hot or cold. I work closely to make sure the mother is comfortable and not placing her health at risk in extreme temperatures.
Many wonder if they should include their children in a maternity photo session. It is absolutely a great idea to have your older children involved! They will feel special and understand they hold an important role as the baby’s sibling. During the session, we will also take time to photograph just mom and of course mother and father together. It’s a great time to capture before the baby arrives. It’s really a beautiful thing to capture- the gift of life.
Newborn Photography
It’s also time to consider scheduling newborn portraits. The best approach is to set up a tentative date or window of dates. I photograph families in the comfort of their home where they can bond with their newborn. The images captured are natural poses encouraged by interactions between family members. A variety of images will be posed and others may be candid.
About the Location
Old Town Lewisville is a blend of historic buildings mixed with a modern water feature boardwalk area that is surrounded by lovely seasonal landscaping. For this session, we utilized Wayne Ferguson Plaza which is a block away from Main Street. The area has community festivities such concerts in the park and open air markets, as well locally own shops along Main Street. My favorites are The Perc Coffeehouse and Old Town Wine House It is a great place for pictures as well as a place to bring the family or go on a date night.
