Klyde Warren Park Senior Portraits
Life is more fun with friends! This senior portrait session at Klyde Warren Park included two graduates! They were celebrating their accomplishments of graduating from the University of Texas – Arlington! What better way than to commemorate the event together. Klyde Warren Park has beautiful green space as well as amazing views of downtown buildings that surround it. We incorporated the city and park views. Going early in the morning was perfect as the park was quite empty except for dog walkers and a few yoga enthusiasts. Evenings at the park are alive with the hustle and bustle of food trucks, street vendors, and many families enjoying the amenities.
Tips for Planning an Urban Session
An urban city atmosphere is really amazing! To make the most of it, some planning must be done. First of all, check the area for any events that might occur such as street festivals, concerts, parades, etc. This is especially important if it is near a holiday. Next, plan a safe parking location with a short walk. I recommend parking at the Dallas Museum of Art lot for Klyde Warren. It’s located right across the street. Bring a buddy with you. In urban settings, it is important to be aware of your surroundings. Having an extra person will help keep all eyes on the environment. Urban settings in the morning are generally less crowded than in the evening. If an evening is desired, consider going on a weekday rather than weekend. Generally, the less crowded a location allows for more flexibility in your portrait session. If planning outfit changes, bring clothes that are easy to change as bathrooms may not be readily available. Shoes make a great statement in photos, but bring a pair of comfortable ones to wear when walking between locations. Lastly, some locations require photography permits, so it is wise to plan ahead. When taking time to work out the details, the best results will occur. I walk clients through the process.
