This lovely family invited me to photograph their family on their property in Argyle, Tx. The sunset was beautiful as it dipped behind the trees. It created such beautiful golden light. This is what photographers call the “golden hour”. Everything seems to have a golden glow to it creating beautiful warm tones. Texas is well known for it’s beautiful golden hour and spectacular sunset skies.

I photograph families all year long. Fall is a very popular time for family portraits as many people want to have updated Christmas card pictures. Spring is also a popular time with the lush wildflowers that sprout from April through June. Texas is known for bluebonnets, however, they are just the beginning of wildflower season. In the following months a variety of flowers bloom. The variety changes every few weeks. It is such a lovely time for pictures as well. Summer is a very hot time for pictures. Usually I photograph extended families in the summer. No matter the season, I can suggest the best locations for portraits that will compliment your family’s style and desires. Types of locations I like to use include manicured gardens, urban locations such as Sun Dance Square, Frisco Square, as well as lakefront locations. The DFW metroplex really as so many options.
