About four years ago, I met this sweet family when I photographed their daughter’s first birthday! It was delightful to see them again to photograph their son’s first birthday portraits! It’s such a joy to share in these milestone moments with families over the years. Considering it was early spring, we chose Flippen Park for portraits. The classic charm and manicured grounds throughout the year made it the perfect option for the occasion.

Sibling Portraits Take the Cake

We began the session with sibling portraits. Proud big sister wanted to be part of the fun, and rightly so! Her dress was so lovely and elegant. Little brother was simply adorable!

First Birthday Portraits before the REAL Fun Begins

Before diving into his delicious coconut cake, the birthday boy posed for his one year portraits, showcasing his infectious joy and curiosity. He did a fantastic job hamming it up, flashing that adorable grin that melted everyone’s hearts! I’ve never seen such a happy, smiley one year old, as he giggled and clapped his hands with delight at all the attention. What a joy he was to photograph in his adorable jon jon romper, which perfectly complemented his playful spirit. The charm of classic fashion choices, with their timeless appeal, truly lasts the test of time, making these birthday portraits not only memorable but also filled with endearing style and sentimentality. Each click of the camera captured the essence of this special day, a cherished moment that his family will look back on with fondness.

Highland Park Family Portraits – A Family of Four

With everyone dressed to the nines, we captures family portraits for the family of FOUR! They hold so much love and endearment for each other, as the parents natural charm and laughter inspired their children to giggle with delight. Despite the cool temperatures, everyone warmed up to the camera and showed their smiles, with a little bit of bashfullness in between. Overall, the happiness and joy of the first birthday portraits enhanced everyone’s genuine character.

Cake Smash

Big sister loved cheering on her brother to eat his cake, but brother was a little apprehensive as the texture of the frosting was a little confusing as well as the intense sugary flavor. We encouraged him by hiding a Paw Patrol character in his cake, which enticed him to reach for it with curiosity and excitement! With each big bite and yummy taste, he began to relax, discovering the delightful combination of flavors. His sister joined in on the fun too, sampling his cake as they both shared laughs.

These Moments are Fleeting
