Dreamy Sunset Proposal at Rockledge Park
Sunset Proposal at Rockledge Park: What Dreams are Made Of
It was a perfect evening to photograph a proposal at Rockledge Park on Grapevine Lake. A gentle cool breeze blew across the lake, soft clouds blanketed the sky. The setting sun illuminated the heavens with pastel hues. Landon chose a stunning overlook to ask Avery to be his wife. The proposal occurred at an opportune moment as a sail boat passed in the background and birds flew overhead.

Details about Rockledge Park
This picturesque park is located at the border between Grapevine and Flower Mound near the Grapevine Lake Dam Road. The park offers scenic cliff like overlooks. The sight attracts fishermen, wind sailors, and nature seekers alike. North Shore mountain bike and hiking trail connects to the park offering miles of shoreline and treed trails meandering through Murrell and Twin Coves Park. It’s such a gem located between two quite suburbs of Grapevine and Flower Mound.

Timing Your Proposal at Rockledge Park
Since this park is very popular on weekends and national holidays, I recommend visiting on week days. This will provide a quiet serene setting with minimal distractions. Fishermen or families picnicking during sunset may be company, but overall week days are a perfect time for a proposal. It’s wise to check the weather and wind speeds ahead of time. When fronts come in, the lake can be extra windy! Also, this spot is best for girlfriends who don’t mind a little bit of a rugged terrain.
