Family Portraits in the Wildflowers
These lovely wildflowers always make their appearance in the month of May, which tends to be the rainiest month in the Dallas area. Scheduling these sessions can be tricky sometimes, but to my delight the scheduling worked well! It’s really a double edged sword, because rain make the flowers plentiful, yet it also adds some stress to making outdoor portrait appointments!
Spring in North Dallas brings so much variety when it comes to photography in wildflowers. View this link to read about the abundance of spring blooms in the DFW area. The season begins in late February and lasts through July! So many lovely variety of flowers grace the landscape during this time span.
What to Wear for Wildflower Portraits
Wildflower portraits take a little bit of planning. Here is what I have found helpful and has worked for my clients!
- Plan a wardrobe that will compliment nature. Earth tones, soft palettes, and pastels photograph nicely.
- Choose flowing dresses or skirts.
- Wear boots and closed toes footwear.
- Apply bug spray.
- Do not be alarmed by flying or hopping insects.
Plan Your Family Portrait Session
I love photographing families in many settings through out the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. There are so many wonderful options for portraits in the North Texas area. I can suggest many locations based on the client’s style preferences and over all desired look. The busiest time of year is September through November. If a portrait session during this timeframe is needed, it is best to contact me in July or August. Weekend dates are the first to fill up. The next busiest time is from March through May. Please contact me as soon as you decide portraits are needed.
