Family Portraits on the Lake
It was great to see this family again! I’d previously photographed their daughter’s senior portraits. With all of their children home for a holiday, the parents wisely scheduled family pictures. Not only did I see the high school grad, but also her siblings- one newly married, one in PA school, and the youngest sister! What a wonderful family to photograph- a family of six plus the new son in law! Their laughter and happiness really showed in their portraits. I could tell they really appreciated their time together.
Grapevine Lake Location
The sweet mother contacted me with a special request to capture a family picture during sunset on Lake Grapevine. She found the inspiration image on my Instagram feed of a lovely family sitting on the rocks along the shore of the lake with the stunning sunset behind them. I knew I could definitely fulfill her request as this is a favorite location of mine. Because of this, I knew the timing needed to capture stunning images along the shore.
Timing is everything when working by water. First, we started the session in a treed area with stunning golden hour lighting that created a golden glow amongst the trees. We worked in this area moving to a few locations. Then when the sun was dipping closer to the horizon, we headed to the lakeshore. The wind picked up speed over the water! It was quite a challenge to get all of the ladies’ hair under control, but we did! Also, with a little photoshop skills, the windblown look can be tamed beautifully! What a great result we have!
Capture Stunning Portraits at Murrell Park
This location is a favorite because it is so versatile! It’s perfect for families as well as senior portraits. The park is expansive offering diverse locations. I have been photographing at this location for seven years! Believe me when I say that I know the special spots! There are many, and they’re so lovely on camera!
