Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden Proposal During Dallas Blooms
Engagement Photos | Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden Proposal
Spring is the season of love and renewal. I was so excited to photograph this proposal at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden during the beautiful month of March at Dallas Blooms. The gorgeous display begins in February with daffodils and hyacinths, followed by March with tulips, cherry blossoms, and azaleas. We hit the gardens for perfect timing to see 70% peak bloom of azaleas. They are one of my favorite flowers.

Chloe and Jaden were a delight to meet. They’ve been together for nine years since 9th grade of high school! Now they look forward to spending the rest of their life together! It reminds me of myself when I was young, because I met my husband in high school. Many years later, we’ve been married for 24 years! Time truly flies, and it is such an honor to meet couples who are planning their wedding and marriage.

Photographing Engagement Photos at the Dallas Arboretum
The Arboretum is stunningly expansive and can become easily overwhelming because of its size. I recommend planning a photography route ahead of time. This is will best optimize your time spent at the gardens. Arrive at opening time to enjoy the best lighting and when crowds are smaller. Be ready to work around visitors and other photographers. Patience is key as well as flexibility! I planned our route to cover the DeGoyer Pergola, the Women’s Garden, and lastly Crepe Myrtle Allee. Along the way to each garden, I stopped to use lovely settings along the way, creating a variety of beautiful images.

Preparing for a Great Engagement Session
It’s a wise idea for the bride to bring a pair of walking shoes to use when walking between gardens. She can quickly switch shoes for photos. Make sure both shoes are photo worthy to make it easier.
