Engagement Session on Film Rockledge Park

Engagement Session on Film Rockledge Park

A beautiful sunset, romantic proposal overlooking Grapevine Lake created the perfect opportunity for me to capture some moments on 35 mm film! I’ve recently begun adding film into some sessions as I trial the method and process. I love that it causes me to slow down to focus on photographing a moment I intend to convey. The process of sending off film to get “developed” and scanned is so fun to anticipate, bringing back memories of my youth when I dropped off my film at the local Eckerd drug store. I couldn’t wait to see what was captured. Sometimes big surprises happened with the results!

Double Exposure

Most of the time I use Canon EOS Rebel G with Kodak Portra film. I love setting it for double exposures! Usually I will pair a silhouette with a sunset mixed with water. The juxtaposition is really stunning. I love using the Canon Rebel because most of my lenes fit nicely on it, allowing me to utilize existing equipment and create sharp images.

Proposal at Lake Grapevine

Be sure to check out the original post for this session captured with Sony AIV mirrorless system. The results are just as stunning, and they’re even better paired with film!
