Dallas Beauty Portraits

Dallas Beauty Portraits, Lumen Room WHITE

This Dallas beauty portraits session celebrated my beautiful friend welcoming her 40th birthday! Her vision was to use white and black to create a story of her life, her journey of learning and changing through the decades. The Lumen Room’s White studio was perfect for her vision. Her wardrobe worked wonderfully with the setting!

My client did a wonderful job at planning her wardrobe! She wanted simplicity and elegance! Her clothing was classic with small details that played well with the black walls and white walls. Her choice of a bright hot pink tutu worked perfectly at creating a pop of color against the white walls. Her jewelry choices added visual interest, but did not overwhelm her features or the images. She was very prepared with several jewelry options for each outfit. Take a read at more tips on planning your wardrobe on my style guide.

Her first set of portraits were very simple, and portrayed her natural beauty and traditional jewelry from her home country in Africa.

The next set featured her modern professionalism. She is a beast in the career world. This woman works tirelessly to please her clients.

Lastly, we celebrated a vibrant future in a new decade with a bright pink tutu! We had so much fun dancing and singing in the fun clothing.

Dallas Spring Portrait Photography

The open of Dallas Spring Blooms at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden started off with wonderful blossoms of daffodils and some tulips popping up! I photographed sweet friends modeling Matilda Jane Clothing, “Brilliant Daydream”at the Dallas Arboretum. The overcast sky provided wonderful even light allowing me to photograph the girls in many locations that are off limits during full sun days! We visited the large Johnson Color Garden and ventured to the reflecting pools overlooking White Rock Lake at the Women’s Garden. The arboretum is large with a multitude of picturesque locations. It is easy to spend hours there!

The first portion of photos were taken at the large open garden. I has lovely green grass with flower beds exploding with beautiful color!

We concluded our photos with swim wear! The Women’s Garden reflecting pool was perfect for our beach wear! I love the happy colors in the swim suits and accessories.

Looking Back at 2018

Dallas Tx Portrait Photography 2018 Review

Reflecting on 2018 leaves me feeling quite proud, thankful, and fulfilled! This photography business has blossomed exponentially, and that is due to all of the wonderful clients and mentors I have met along the way! Nothing would have been possible without these people!

I took the year as an opportunity to explore a variety of photography genres from outdoor natural light to studio settings. From newborn, to maternity, from families to extended families, I experienced all forms of family photography sessions. I also ventured into high school senior portraits as well as engagement photography and assisting at weddings. This time of exploration introduced me to many wonderful people including photographers, models, and the sweetest clients!

The year has also brought accomplishments and philanthropic opportunities. I am so very thankful for making front cover of Iconic Child magazine. It was such an honor!

In addition, I have donated my time and photography to the Mercy Run organization that provides resources for families who have lost a child/ sibling. I enjoyed photographing their annual fundraiser Fun Run/ 5k/ 10K event. Giving my time to this cause is near and dear to me as I know the grief encountered with losing a sibling. I also had the pleasure of offering complimentary family photo sessions to six first responder families during the DFW 9/11 First Responder Event. It is my pleasure to invest my time in non profit organizations that connect with me deeply.

The goal for 2019 is to hone in on my specialities and further develop my art to serve my clients with the very best quality and costumer service. I am so appreciative of the fact that my clients have trusted me completely with capturing their family bonds. Preserving these moments is the most precious gift I can provide.

Cheers to 2019! May we all have a prosperous year!

Enjoy highlights from 2018!

Highland Village Photographer, Tangerine Salon Kids Cut-a-thon

Kids’ Cut-a-thon Supports the Environment

I had the pleasure of donating to the Kids Cut-a-Thon at our local, Tangerine Salon, in Highland Village, TX. They offered a special on hair cuts, and all proceeds were donated to the Gulf Restoration Network. This is one of the great things I love about Aveda salons. They are mindful of the environment. The company’s mission is clear about that! OUR MISSION AT AVEDA IS TO CARE FOR THE WORLD WE LIVE IN,FROM THE PRODUCTS WE MAKE TO THE WAYS IN WHICH WE GIVE BACK TO SOCIETY. AT AVEDA, WE STRIVE TO SET AN EXAMPLE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL LEADERSHIP AND RESPONSIBILITY, NOT JUST IN THE WORLD OF BEAUTY, BUT AROUND THE WORLD. -Horst Rechelbacher, Founder

My girls had such a great time getting pampered. Shampoo in the sink was a new experience for them! They had never been to an adult salon!

Hair and make up artist, Nicki Gazlay, cut and styled my daughters’ hair! The entire time, the girls had a look of amazement and wonder, mixed with giggles and squeals. My three year old was so impressed, she was speechless!

After a thorough blow dry and some wavy curls, the girls were all smiles! They had their face painted too!

Thank you, Tangerine and Nicki Gazlay, for a wonderful experience. I am always happy to support locally owned businesses as well as donate to earth friendly causes.
