Newborn Photographer Flower Mound – Maternity and Family Photographer
I loved photographing this family! They had me photograph them for maternity portraits, and now I actually had the opportunity to meet their sweet little boy! He was about one month old when I photographed him. He was so precious. I just wanted to hold him all day long!!
During this session I utilized wonderful window light. It created a cozy yet dramatic look to the portraits. I love natural light, because it enhances depth and emotions. Mom and dad can just rock baby by the light of the window.
For every session I bring along props such as swaddle blankets, onesies, and a baby Moses basket. I adore the basket! All babies look just adorable swaddled in the basket. It is one of my favorite poses. I can of course use special items the parents desire such as special clothing, heirlooms, and blankets. It is always special to see what parents include. It definitely adds a personal touch to each newborn session.
Here are a couple of images from their maternity session. Aren’t they sweet! We used a park in Highland Park, Dallas. It was so green even though it was late February!

Did you know I can also use my studio for newborn family portraits? Sometimes it is easier for the parents to bring the baby to the studio. I can use natural light as well as studio light, depending on the parents’ preferences.
Southlake Newborn Photographer – DFW Family Photographer
It is not often that I photograph a maternity session and the following week the baby is born! We had perfect timing with this mamma. On mother’s day, we photographed the maternity session at my Flower Mound studio. It was a wonderful way to celebrate motherhood. The following weekend, she ended up giving birth! If we waited the next weekend, it would have been too late!
The majority of times I photograph newborns at their home. It provides a peaceful and familiar setting for the family. There is no need to pack bags, multiple outfits, bottles, diapers, pacifiers, and all the other million things newborns could use. For new moms it can be stressful to travel and spend hours at a newborn session. This is the main reason I provide the service of coming to the clients’ home. At the home, I can photograph the nursery, important items like handmade blankets and even include pets. Don’t you love how the dog is protectively laying next to the baby in the bassinet?
When I come to the client, I bring several items to use. In my bag, I have multiple colored swaddle blankets, various headbands, white onesies, and best of all a Moses basket. Clients can choose to use my items, or use their own. I am happy to accommodate requests of using heirloom pieces and other items the parents would like to use.

Dallas Tx Maternity Photographer – The Lumen Room Red
It was a pleasure to photograph these two expectant parents. They were waiting the arrival of their first child! February weather kept hindering our plans for an outdoor photo session, so I reserved a space at the Lumen Room in Dallas. It worked perfectly since that day it was rainy and dreary! During the colder months, the Lumen Room books up weeks in advance, so I was so thankful to secure a slot for us. Even though the day was overcast, the window light worked wonderfully for our session.
Lumen Room has many options for props such as couches, chairs, plants, stools, and other decorative props. In addition, they have the floral backdrop, which is so fun to use! This couple wanted to keep it simple and use minimal props. Lumen Room is always updating their furniture and maintaining a fresh and up to date vibe. It is such a versatile space! Take a look at a session in the Lumen Room WHITE. It features white walls and flooring for a light and airy feel.
Recently I opened a studio in Flower Mound. Natural light and studio lighting is available. This space is a complimentary feature to my clients who choose to have portraits taken indoors. Months with extreme weather make this a great choice! Take a look at these sessions in the newly designed Flower Mound studio space.
Flower Mound Maternity Photography – I spent the best Mother’s Day to date, after giving birth to my daughter the day before Mother’s Day. The day before Mother’s Day I celebrated my daughter’s sixth birthday. On Sunday I spent the day enjoying so many activities I love! It started with steaming coffee from Epic Gelato and Craft Coffee, followed by photographing my glowing pregnant friend, then an afternoon of hot yoga, and finishing up with dinner with my family at my favorite, J Macklin’s Grill. The day involved hobbies I love and spending time with my beloved family.
This radiant mother was expecting her first child! She and her husband were so over the moon to meet their little girl! They were pretty ready to welcome their sweet bundle of joy! Providing her with these photos was a wonderful way to spend the morning! I am so glad we did this because the following week, the baby was born!
During the session I utilized studio lighting as well as natural light. The studio really looks beautiful with both options. When using studio lights, a solid color backdrop is used. During natural light photography, I use the room’s curtains as well as furniture to involve more of the room’s environment. A session in the studio can utilize both types of light to create a versatile look.
Jennifer also photographs newborns in the comfort of the client’s home. Clients may choose to use the studio rather than their home.
