Congratulations to Jake for his upcoming graduation for class of 2020! He is a talented football player and looks forward to attending OU in the fall! It is a popular university for many North Texas high school graduates. This senior is special to me, because I remember when he walked the halls of the elementary school where I taught! While he was not in my class, I remember how helpful is mother was with PTA! I am so honored I had the opportunity to photograph him to celebrate his next chapter of education!
Main Street Lewisville is ideal for portraits because it has a variety of photo opportunities! Not to mention there are some places to grab a bite to celebrate the conclusion of photos! Check out these eateries after your photo session:
Believe it or not I start booking Christmas photos as early as August! The schedule gets busier the closer it reaches November. Usually every weekend books first. From mid September to early November is a great time for senior photos. That means clients are competing with my Christmas business for photo times. During this time, there is still a lot of greenery, the grass is green, and plants look alive. Also, weather can vary greatly, but in general it is still comfortable weather for photos- not sweltering hot and not frigid cold. After November, I recommend waiting until late March to start outdoor senior photos again. By this time, spring is starting to push new growth and the outdoors looks pretty again, unlike the dead of winter. Early May is the very latest to have photos taken, as it is usually quite a rush to have images ready for announcements and parties. With all of this being said, please start contacting me to schedule portraits around July and August, as well as January and February. Booking ahead allows you to obtain your optimal date on the calendar. When scheduling ahead, we can always lock in the date and determine a location closer to the actual photo session date. There are so many wonderful locations in the DFW area.
Coppell Senior Photographer – DFW High School Senior Portraits at Grapevine Springs Park, what a fun time we had!
I am honored when long time friends contact me to photograph their family. It is truly a compliment that they trust me with photographing important events in their life. This teen’s mother first became my friend when I moved to Texas in 2006. This was long before I had children. Her two girls were young and precious. Fast forward over a decade, here we are celebrating her oldest’s senior year in high school. She is an accomplished soccer athlete for Coppell High School Cowgirls. Her love for sports exemplifies her dedication and hard work.
I also had a chance to photograph her younger sister to celebrate he 16th birthday! She hasn’t changed a bit, except now she can drive! It was great seeing her again!Three years ago I photographed her when she turned 13! She is also an athlete, playing volleyball for Coppell.
Of course, I captured a sister and family shot to commemorate the occasion.
Many parents of seniors ask me advice for wardrobe planning. My main objective is to capture the teen in their element. I want to portray the teenager as they prefer. This helps the session go smoothly, and the teen is happy to have their photo taken! Admit it, teens these days know all the poses and angles for photography since they grew up in the age of social media! I have worked with so many self confident seniors! I am so impressed. For specific advice on clothing, read this blog. I take time to explain different styles and locations. Like I said, every person has their own style preferences. It is important for me to honor that.
Flower Mound HS Senior Portraits | Old Town Lewisville | Wayne Ferguson Plaza
Spring is a wonderful time of the year, because everything in nature starts to bloom and turn green, and also because I have the chance to photography many high school seniors!
This young lady, Anna, is very special. I taught her brother in fourth grade about a decade ago. She was a couple of years young, so I remember when Anna was in fourth grade as well, but she was not in my class.
Ann is a graduate from Flower Mound High School! She has achieved so many amazing things during her high school career! As drum major, she led the marching band at the Rose Parade. She also held office in various clubs! She has numerous academic and musical accolades. Her hard work and determination paid off, because she is headed to Ivy League PRINCETON! I have had the honor of knowing Anna’s family for many years. I am so glad her parents had me photograph her to bring our memories full circle! You will do amazing things Anna!
Check out Old Town Lewisville. After your session, enjoy a dinner out at Twisted Root or Prohibition Chicken. Then walk over for a cup of craft coffee at The Perc. Main Street is a great area that is reaping so many benefits of revitalization.

Las Colinas Mandalay Canals
The canals are such a beautiful location tucked away in downtown Las Colinas, Irving. This hidden gem offers a magical photography experience. It is as if we have stepped out of Texas for a moment and into a foreign land. The Mandalay Canals were a perfect setting for Ariana to showcase her dance expertise. She is such a talented ballerina, with an abundance of ideas and movements for the camera. Of course we had to use the tutu, leotard, and pointe shoes for the classic ballet look. Then we transitioned to a Mr. Pretty tulle skirt with a train. It had layers upon layers of billowing fabric. It was an elegant touch to our dance themed photo session.
Las Colinas Canals are perfect for bridal and engagement portraits, high school senior photography, family photos, and even milestone occasions. The canals are centrally located in Irving, Texas near large highways. I can’t wait to return!
