Southlake Newborn Photographer – DFW Family Photographer
It is not often that I photograph a maternity session and the following week the baby is born! We had perfect timing with this mamma. On mother’s day, we photographed the maternity session at my Flower Mound studio. It was a wonderful way to celebrate motherhood. The following weekend, she ended up giving birth! If we waited the next weekend, it would have been too late!
The majority of times I photograph newborns at their home. It provides a peaceful and familiar setting for the family. There is no need to pack bags, multiple outfits, bottles, diapers, pacifiers, and all the other million things newborns could use. For new moms it can be stressful to travel and spend hours at a newborn session. This is the main reason I provide the service of coming to the clients’ home. At the home, I can photograph the nursery, important items like handmade blankets and even include pets. Don’t you love how the dog is protectively laying next to the baby in the bassinet?
When I come to the client, I bring several items to use. In my bag, I have multiple colored swaddle blankets, various headbands, white onesies, and best of all a Moses basket. Clients can choose to use my items, or use their own. I am happy to accommodate requests of using heirloom pieces and other items the parents would like to use.

It was such a joy to photograph this family as they welcomed their fifth child! The older siblings were so enthralled with their new sister. The proud parents were so content with their little one. The weather during this session was rainy and overcast, but that did not interfere with our session. Natural window light was perfect.
This family exemplifies a story of strength, hope, and perseverance. The mother’s tattoo art tells their story. It is one of inspiration and sacrifice. Each person in this beautiful family represents a beacon of hope and new beginnings.
I also had the pleasure of photographing the parents for a maternity session! They were troopers in the Texas heat, but the beautiful scenery made up for the sweltering weather! We were prepared with lots of water and ice towels!

It is always such a pleasure to photograph families expecting a child. This couple look forward to meeting a little girl in July! They are so excited to meet her. We had a fun time exploring the Grapevine Botanical Gardens during the photo session. There are so many lovely places to incorporate into the photo. The front entry arbor, the fountains, as well as the sunken garden are some of my favorites at this location.

Jennifer also offers newborn photography sessions in the client’s home. The newborn sessions are lifestyle in that they are less posed and are more natural moments of the family photographed with the infant. Jennifer utilizes the spaces in the home like the master bedroom, living room, and infant nursery. The optimal timing is birth to two weeks old. What a sweet bundle of joy! A couple of months ago, I captured the maternity session for the McKinney family. How special it was to photograph their newborn. It is so magical to capture the bond between new parents and their infant child. There are so many heartwarming details like the baby yawning, or dad soothing his tiny daughter, and mom gazing into her baby’s eyes thinking to herself, “You made me a mom.”
