Maternity Photos at Home
When I was 36 weeks pregnant and deep into the nesting phase, I decided to capture some maternity portraits at home! I enlisted my daughter to help me accomplish this. It would be too challenging for me to take self portraits. I helped set up the frame of the camera by showing her where to stand and how to hold the camera. She was very patient and followed directions so well! I am so impressed the pictures she took! She impressed herself too and asked to be paid for her work! I told her I will take her out for coffee!

Reasons to have maternity portraits at home.
There is no need to rush around and allow for travel time when you are having pictures taken at your home. The comfort of your home allows for a more relaxed portrait experience. Taking pictures at home allows me to capture the details of your style. It adds an extra personal touch to your portraits that make them unique from anyone else’s maternity pictures. I focus on the time and attention the client puts in creating a welcoming home for their new baby and family.

Don’t worry if your home is not “picture perfect.” All I need is a window with natural light and a room with character to create images that showcase the details that matter the most. I love how my nursery came together. Almost every piece in the room is thrifted! I am so proud of myself for being creative as well as working within a budget.

Capture the important aspects of your child’s room. Include details such as religious items, family heirlooms, books, meaningful quotes, the options are plentiful. The items pictured here were given to me at my baby shower! I happened to already have the painting of Jesus, and I thought it would look nice in the nursery.
