DFW Portrait Photography Locations I DFW Senior and Family Photography
When scheduling a portrait session, choosing a location is one of the first steps of the planning process. I help clients select a location based on their personal style and the season of the year. There are many beautiful photography locations in DFW, so I help guide the client in choosing the location that best fits their needs. In addition, I offer a variety of locations that I am familiar with. Many factors must be considered for photography locations such as: lighting, traffic, accessibility, popularity, and entrance fees. Considering all of these variables, I have curated a list for clients to help them determine their portrait session setting.
Highland Park in Dallas
This is one of my favorite locations in Dallas. The area is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. There is greenery through all seasons of the year, even in the middle of winter! The lighting is gorgeous and the trees offer a beautify canopy. A creek meanders below and there are abundant stone pathways and bridges that lead through the ivy covered ground. This location is ideal for senior portraits and families.

Highland Park Shopping
The shops are conveniently located by the Highland Park area listed above. For longer sessions, we can easily incorporate both locations. The driving time is about five minutes! The shop setting is most popular with senior portraits.

Flippen Park
This is a park located in the University Park area of Dallas. It is quaint and perfect for seniors, families, and engagement pictures. The main features are an elegant gazebo and a lovely fountain with a reflection pool. There are always seasonal flowers growing.

Mandalay Canals in Irving
For a an elegant European setting consider Mandalay Canal Walk in Irving. The main feature is a beautiful canal along picturesque stone work buildings. It is reminiscent of Venice! Every season of the year is an option here, since it is mainly a location that features beautiful architecture. The canals are a great option for familes, couples, and seniors.

Old Town Lewisville
Old Town is located right off of I-35 E and Main Street. It has a historic downtown section with brick buildings and mom and pop shops. During the holidays, it has lovely decorations. This location is great throughout the year. The boardwalk area offers beautiful sunset photos and sometimes the trees are lit with lights that provide a magical twinkle in photos. Wildflowers grow in the beds during spring and the trees have beautiful purple blossoms.

Historic Grapevine
Main Street Grapevine offers a lot of character for a traditional look. There are a variety of brick buildings and shop fronts that create classic portraits. This area is very busy on weekend evenings, so the best timing is to go on week nights Monday through Thursday, or in the mornings on Sunday. Keep in mind Grapevine decorates for Christmas, so the area is very busy with traffic and pedestrians November through January. Families and senior boys like going to Historic Grapevine.

Green Acres Farm Memorial Park
Green Acres Farm Memorial Park is hidden along a quiet street. This park has a white fence, metal silos, and open space. Families prefer this location. It holds the interest of little ones and provides a variety of locations for pictures. The sunsets are extremely vibrant here. Fall foliage is especially colorful here because of the tree line. Lakefront Park
This is a favorite park that is located in Flower Mound on Grapevine Lake. The park has many beautiful trails, lakefront rocky spots, and a large open meadow. Families often choose this location. It is best during fall, spring, and summer. View sessions at this location.

White Studio $75 studio fee
This studio has two locations- Dallas and Ft Worth. The natural light studio is ideal for rainy days and cold weather. Also, parents of small children prefer the studio. It has a bathroom and is air conditioned and heated. It’s also great for personal branding and professional headshots. There are options to use the furniture as well. Dallas’s second floor studio has a white or brick option. Ft Worth first floor studio only has a white option. View sessions at the Ft Worth location. View a session at the Dallas location.

Dallas Arboretum and Botanic Garden
Dallas Arboretum and Botanic Gardens are a picturesque place for portraits. There are infinite opportunities for amazing portraits. I hold a guest pass which covers five guest passes and a parking pass. Additional family members will pay the admission fee. It is popular among seniors and especially during tulip season for all ages. View a session at the Dallas Arboretum.

Fort Worth Stockyards and Sundance Square
The stockyards in Fort Worth are a great option for families who want a distinctly Texas portrait session. The Fort Worth Stockyards have a rustic charm and are nostalgic of old Texas. We incorporate the Stockyard Station area and then can walk across the street to the cacti field. These two locations offer wonderful Texas charm.
For a city feel, Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth is a wonderful option. The city lights offer a sophisticated vibe. Also, the classic brick architecture creates a traditional look. This location is excellent for elegant families as well as teens who want an urban sophisticated look.
